The childhood of the Prophet pbuh (part:3)

In the affectunate adoption of his Grandfather Abd-al-Muttalib

After the death of his beloved mother , his grandfather Abd-al-Muttalib adopted him . He loved him dearly and kept him by his side all the time . It was the custom of Abd-al-Muttalib to sit on a mate near the Ka’ba where he was always surrounded by the people who had came to speak to him . Beacause of his impressive personality no one dare to sit with him on the mate , even his own sons , except his grandson Muhammad pbuh , which showes how they were close to each other . Some times his uncles tried to forbid him to sit there but Abd-al-Muttalib used to say , ” let my this child come to me , he loves the dignity . “

Some people of Mudlij (a tribe of Makkah ) said to Abd-al-Muttalib , ” protect him well as this child has the foot prints resembles a lot with the foot prints of Syedna Ibrahim a.s . ”

Abd-al-Muttalib always advised his maid ” Barakah ” to care Muhammad pbuh and never make a mistake in his protection because the People of the Book surmise about him that he will be the prophet of his nation .

The renowned Islamic historian Blazri has reported from Imam Zahri that when the meal was brought to Abd-al-Muttalib he sit Muahmmad pbuh beside him and if he was absent at that time he did not touch he food he comes . He was very affectionate and mercifull to him . He kissed his head and always be pleasant to see him and used to listen him carefully .

Abu Noaim has narreted that one day Abd-al-Muttalib was sitting in Hateem ( a low wall originallay part of the Ka’aba ) a priest of Najran was talkimg to him , he said . “We find the description of a prophet who will be from Banu Isma’il , this city will be his birthplace . ” And then narreted his attributes . When Muhammad pbuh came there , he asked , ” Who is this child ? , who is of you ? ” Abd-al-Muttalib said , “this is my son . ” The Priest said , ” No , according to our informations his father must not be alived . ” Abd-al-Muttalib said , ” He is my grandson . His father had died before his birth . ” The Priest said , ” you said the truth .” Abd-al-Muttalib addressed his sons and advised , ” Take care of your nephew , you know what has been said about him . ”

It is narrated by many authentic writrers of Muslim history that Syeda Raqeeqah bint ibn Saifi bin Hashim that Quraysh had to face a long term famine , she dreamed of a sound saying , ” O , tribe of Quraysh ! this is your Prophet to be , his prophethood is near to come , you should hurry up for rain and prosperity . Try to find out a person among you whose body is magnificent and strong , his comlexion is white , his cheeks are smooth , nose is lofty . He has a pride which he doesnot showes . He and his descendents should come out . One person of each tribe should be with him . They should take bath and shower scent , kiss the Blessed Black Stone and circumambulate the Ka’aba . Then climb on the mount of Abu Qubais and pray for rain. Among them is a noble and virtuous person , ask for rain by his delegacy.” She said I told my dream to the Quraysh , all the Makkans said jointly , Abd-al-Muttalib is that described person . Quraysh went to him and told all about it . He agreed upon and they all performed which was directed to them . The Prophet pbuh was with them and it was after a while of the prayer of Abd-al-Muttalib it rained heavily and all the valley filled whith water .

When Muhammad pbuh was about seven years old he got inflammation in his eyes, no treatmant did work . Finallay Abd-al-Muttalib took him to a Priest near ‘Ukaaz , who was famous for his treatment of ill eyes . Abd-al-Muttalib knocked at the door but he did not opened . The church began to viberate , the Priest came out in hurry and said , ” Abd-al-Muttalib ! this child is the prophet of the nation . Took him back and protect him from the People of the Book , they will try to kill him . ”

When Muhammad pbuh was eight years of age Abd-al-Muttalib became ill, he called his son Abu Talib and asked him to adop Muhammad pbuh after his death which he did .
