Al-Saadiq pbuh
Al-Saadiq means the truthful
The Prophet pbuh was named by Al-Sadiq because the Prophet pbuh was famous for his honesty and noblity even before his prophethood . He never told a lie and was titled Al-Sadiq by the Makkans . So , when the Prophet pbuh was commanded by Allah Almighty to preach the message of Islam openly , he climbed up the mountain of Safa and called the Quraysh to listen him . when they all gethered there, he pbuh asked them if he claims that behind this mountain an army is ready to attack on them , will they believ on it ? . They all said unanimously , ” yes , because we have seen you always speaking the truth . ”
It is narrated by Syedna Ali R.A that Abu Jahal was used to say , ” Muhammad(pbuh) ! I did not call you a liar but I do not consider you right . ”
On this Allah Almighty revealed the following verses of Al-Quran in Surah Al- Maidah ;
قَدْ نَعْلَمُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيَحْزُنُكَ ٱلَّذِى يَقُولُونَ ۖ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يُكَذِّبُونَكَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ ٣٣
We certainly know that what they say grieves you ˹O Prophet˺. It is not your honesty they question—it is Allah’s signs that the wrongdoers deny.
In an other verse Allah Subhanahu wa Ta,ala said as below ;
وَٱلَّذِى جَآءَ بِٱلصِّدْقِ وَصَدَّقَ بِهِۦٓ ۙ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ ٣٣
And the one who has brought the truth and those who embrace it—it is they who are the righteous.
The ” Poet of the Prophet pbuh ” Syedna Hassaan said praising the Prophet pbuh ;
امام لھم یہدیھم الحق جاھداً
معلم صدق ان یطیعوہ یھتدوا
” You( pbuuh ) are their Leader , you ( pbuh ) guide them to the right with effort
You ( pbuh ) are the teacher of the truth , if they will follow you ( pbuh ) , will find the right path . “
