Al-Amin (pbuh ): Trustworthy
Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala has said in the Holy Quran that the Prophet pbuh is the most trustworthy person to convey His messege of Islam , he never speaks a single word except what is revealed to him , as comes in the following verse of Surah Younis :
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَاتُنَا بَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ ۙ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا ٱئْتِ بِقُرْءَانٍ غَيْرِ هَـٰذَآ أَوْ بَدِّلْهُ ۚ قُلْ مَا يَكُونُ لِىٓ أَنْ أُبَدِّلَهُۥ مِن تِلْقَآئِ نَفْسِىٓ ۖ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ ۖ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ إِنْ عَصَيْتُ رَبِّى عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ ١٥
When Our clear revelations are recited to them, those who do not expect to meet Us say ˹to the Prophet˺, “Bring us a different Quran or make some changes in it.” Say ˹to them˺, “It is not for me to change it on my own. I only follow what is revealed to me. I fear, if I were to disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day.”
Imam Muslim has narrated from Syedna Abu Saeed Al-Khudri that the Prophet pbuh said , ” you don’t think of me as a trustworthy ? I am trustworthy in the sky . The news of sky comes to me day and night . ”
He was named Al-Amin by Allah as he was the guardian for the divine revelation and was strong enough in the obedience of Allah .
He pbuh was famous for his honesty among the Quraysh and was titled by them Al-Amin . Once upon a time , when the Quraysh rebuilt the Ka’aba and it was ready up to the place where the Black Stone was to set in the corner of a wall . The conflict began between the all tribes of Quraysh . Every tribe wanted to have the honour of carraying the Black Stone and lifting it to its placce . Finally it was decided that the person who will enter first in the Ka’aba , he will set the dispute . Luckily , Muhammad pbuh entered first of all . Every one was pleased , because they all trusted him . They all said jointly , ” came the Al-Amin , came the Al-Amin ” This story shows how the Quraysh respected and trusted Muhammad pbuh .
