The Prophet Muhammad pbuh took his first and last pilgrimage in the year 10 A.H (After Hijrah ) . This is the most significant historical event for the Muslims being the model for performing the fifth pillar of Islam , the Hajj .
The Prophet pbuh delivered his final sermon during the Hajj of the year 632 C.E , the 9th of Dhul Hijjah ( the 12th month of Islamic calendar , at Arafah , the most blessed day of the year . A big number of his Companions were present with him at this glorious moment .
After praising and thanking Allah Almighty , the Blessed Prophet pbuh said ;
” O people , lend me an attentive ear , for I know not weather after this year , I shell ever be amongst you again . therefore , listen to me carefully and take these words to those who could not be presented here today . “
