Prayer In Difficulties / Grief / Hard Job / Difficult Exams

Introduction of prayer:

This prayer is suggested to be recited in difficulties, grief, troubles and sorrows. Those who stay connected with their Lord they face these difficulties and hardships with patience, having believe in Allah. They know with deep hears that He Almighty is the Controller of their affairs and He only has the power to set them. The Holy Prophet (pbuh) has taught this prayer to be recited to get ease, success and comfort.

Importance & virtues of prayer:

We all are tested and trialed with some troubles, hardships and loss. Allah Kareem proclaimed in Surah Al-Baqarah: 155;

Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere.

So, when the hardships and difficulties come in a believer’s life, he remains calm and connects with the Lord for ease and comfort. A believer is patient with afflictions and thus gets reward. Anyone can be tested by loss in business, hardships in his career, troubles in relations or difficulties in his work or study. But when he calls upon Allah Kareem and returns to Him seeking for His Mercy and Grace he never remains disappointed and unsuccessful.

Allah Kareem consoled His Messenger Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) when he has to face hardships and troubles in his Divine Mission;

So, surely with hardship comes ease. Surely with ˹that˺ hardship comes ˹more˺ ease. (Surah Ash-Sharh: 5,6)

 Embrace His promise. Do not give up even if the pain seems never-ending and you feel worn out from carrying it all; there is relief and something even greater waiting for you just around the corner. Allah Kareem encourages the believers to remain hopeful in trials because who seeks Allah’s help, should believe, His help is near the believers;

Indeed, Allah’s help is ˹always˺ near. (Surah Al-Baqarah: 214)

A believer should be cool against hardships as he knows well they are just for trials and every one is rewarded according to his faith and believe. Sometimes people assume that if some one is suffering it is because of his bad deeds and decisions or improper planning. But remember, sometimes Allah Kareem trials His servants by putting them in troubles and grief to uplift them in Hereafter. Sometimes the sinners are rewarded and never being testify it does not mean Allah Kareem is happy with them but He Almighty leaves them to wander in their ignorance and He punishes them suddenly without warning. The believers are testified and when they show patience and turning to the Lord in, He promises to bestow ease upon them. The Prophet (pbuh) has described this by saying;

Suhaib reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:

Strange are the ways of a believer for there is good in every affair of his and this is not the case with anyone else except in the case of a believer for if he has an occasion to feel delight, he thanks (God), thus there is a good for him in it, and if he gets into trouble and shows resignation (and endures it patiently), there is a good for him in it. (Sahih Muslim: 2999)
