Introduction of prayer:
This prayer is about to get relief from debt and financial problems. It is narrated that the Prophet (pbuh) taught this prayer to Sayyidna Ali Al-Murtadha (RA) and he it taught to a slave who came to him for financial help;
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رضى الله عنه أَنَّ مُكَاتَبًا، جَاءَهُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي قَدْ عَجَزْتُ عَنْ كِتَابَتِي فَأَعِنِّي . قَالَ أَلاَ أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ عَلَّمَنِيهِنَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَوْ كَانَ عَلَيْكَ مِثْلُ جَبَلِ صِيرٍ دَيْنًا أَدَّاهُ اللَّهُ عَنْكَ قَالَ “ قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلاَلِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ ” .
Ali [may Allah be pleased with him] narrated:
that a Mukatib came to him and said: “Indeed I am not capable of my Kitabah so aid me.” He said: “Should I not teach you words that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught me? If you had a debt upon you similar to the mountain of Sir, Allah would fulfill it for you. He said: ‘Say: O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful against Your prohibited, and make me independent of all those besides You (Allāhummakfinī biḥalālika `an ḥarāmika, wa aghninī bi faḍlika `amman siwāka).’(Tirmidhi: 3563)
Importance and virtues of prayer:
Allah Kareem created the man and all other living creatures and He Almighty is the Sustainer and Provider of all their needs. Allah Kareem says in Qur’an:
۞ وَمَا مِن دَآبَّةٍۢ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ رِزْقُهَا وَيَعْلَمُ مُسْتَقَرَّهَا وَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَا ۚ كُلٌّۭ فِى كِتَـٰبٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
There is no moving creature on earth whose provision is not guaranteed by Allah. And He knows where it lives and where it is laid to rest. All is ˹written˺ in a perfect Record. (Surah Hud: 6)
Allah the Exalted gives sustenance to whom He wills of His servants without limit;
وَٱللَّهُ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍۢ
And Allah provides for whoever He wills without limit.(Surah Al-Baqarah: 212)
Allah Kareem provided us countless favours and blessings and He Almighty increases it when we are grateful to Him. A person who is grateful to His Lord will never be deprived of any blessing.
وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ ۖ وَلَئِن كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِى لَشَدِيدٌۭ ٧
And ˹remember˺ when your Lord proclaimed, ‘If you are grateful, I will certainly give you more. But if you are ungrateful, surely My punishment is severe.’ (Surah Ibrahim: 7)
Allah Kareem testifies His servants by putting them in trials. Those who believe in Allah they turn to Him and supplicate to Him. Those who are God fearing they are rewarded by countless sustenance and provision from where even they can not imagine. Allah Kareem says in Qur’an;
وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مَخْرَجًۭا ٢ وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بَـٰلِغُ أَمْرِهِۦ ۚ قَدْ جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِكُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدْرًۭا
And whoever is mindful of Allah, He will make a way out for them, and provide for them from sources they could never imagine. And whoever puts their trust in Allah, then He ˹alone˺ is sufficient for them. Certainly Allah achieves His Will. Allah has already set a destiny for everything. (Surah At-Talaq: 2,3)
So, who is mindful of Allah and places his trust in Him, surely He Almighty is sufficient for him against all troubles and hardships. This ayah is considered as the greatest ayah of Qur’an that contains relief to get out of troubles.
The Prophet (pbuh) stated about having trust in Allah the biggest source of getting blessings and favours. The Prophet (pbuh) said;
عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم “ لَوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ تَوَكَّلُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ حَقَّ تَوَكُّلِهِ لَرُزِقْتُمْ كَمَا تُرْزَقُ الطَّيْرُ تَغْدُو خِمَاصًا وَتَرُوحُ بِطَانًا
‘Umar bin Al-Khattab narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:
“If you were to rely upon Allah with the required reliance, then He would provide for you just as a bird is provided for, it goes out in the morning empty, and returns full.”(Tirmidhi: 2344)
So, whoever wants to get more sustenance, provisions and livelihood he should recite this prayer having full believe in Allah and soon he will get rid of debt and loan or other financial problems, Insha’Allah.
